At times his music evokes a cathartic gospel show, while others, a quiet and intimate look into the songwriter's psyche. Cranstoun's music is charged by the roots of folk and soul, in which every word--- whether whispered or howled-- expresses as much urgency as the next. With the release of his upcoming sophomore independent effort The Last Drop of Color (11/19), Cranstoun mixes the acoustic with the synthesized, displays versatile atmospheres and instrumentation, and achieves the balanced blend of styles that have inspired him, from the immortal worlds of classic soul and folk, to modern groove, funk and rock. His emotionally charged voice! and lyrics lead the way throughout the broad spectrum of sound and genre that The Last Drop of Color brings. The album features Tim Lappin and Mark Stewart (Rubblebucket) on bass; Cliff Ramsay on drums; Eric Haltmeier on saxophones and piano; Chris Cubeta on piano and synths; Eric Lindberg on lead guitar; Omar Abdul Karim on Trumpet and Jason Disu (LCD Soundsystem) on Trombone. Complete Details j.mp Customer Reviews: "I purchased these back on 3/2011, and since then, i had a adequate amount of time with these monitors, and i must say i am pretty impressed with the build quality and it's sound. It is very detailed and mid and high frequencies benefit much from the 2.3 khz crossover. the tweeter is a 1.25 inch silk dome, cooled using Ferro Fluid cooling and a external heat sink with a ceramic ventilated motor structure. it also has a four-position high frequency lift control which allows you to contour your high frequencies to fit your room's situation. The sound coming out these speakers is clear and crisp, very detailed in the mid and high frequencies. the lows are good, just a small amount of boxiness, but not enough to be muddy and uncontrolled. I mix using these as my main monitors for hip hop music, and for the money they are above excellent. They have two hookups, one unbalanced rca and the other balanced trs jacks for plugging in your audio i! nterface. These speakers are very loud too, i have hardly even raised the volume to the halfway point. On louder settings above 50%, they can get extremely loud and can destroy your hearing, lol. They lose a little of the detail as you go above the halfway volume point, but i doubt you will even have to go that high, as these are nearfield monitors. These monitors are worth more than the asking price for sure. I get good mixes with these, and my room is somewhat treated, and sitting on a pair of Aurelex ...
